NYAAAAHHH FACE-KICKWell, I haven't done a journal on DA for a while, and I haven't done one on this new account yet, namely because I have nothing too important that I want to share with you people, or nothing art related anyway. But I'm getting tired of seeing that blank journal space with the thing prompting me to write one, and there's a few things I can mention, so...
I'm going to a Pre-College summer program at the Academy of Art University for 6 weeks, because I got a full scholarship through my highschool. So that's pretty much amazing. Despite the mostly negative things I've heard about AAU, the instructors are really knowledgeable and hands on, and I'm learnin lots and havin a spiffy good time taking 2d traditional animation, character design, comic book illustration and graphic design. I've never really made characters or stories before and it's forcing me to reach deep inside my slimy belly and pull out the ol' creative organs. Mmmm.
HOW MANY OF Y'ALL ARE GOING TO COMIC CON? Should be a blast so you should tell me if you're going and maybe we'll meet up. i know I'm seeing Ms. DeKay and her crew, and Sir Lars of DeadChickenVille. Hit me up peeps! So far I'm only impersonating myself and Mr. Niccals, but if I get real inspired like I may do someone else, so you'll never be able to recognise me.
Things I currently dig/ and/or obsess over are the Gorillaz, the Mighty Boosh, Batman comics, Tank Girl, Samurai Champloo and kicking the internet's RP ass.
